Vasyl Lomachenko is diving straight back into the deep end after two years out of the ring.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three-weight world champion and future Hall of Famer hasn’t set foot in the ring since an eleventh-round stoppage victory over George Kambosos Jr in May 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lomachenko hung up his gloves just over a year later. <\/p>\n

However, Ring Magazine reported last week that Loma is set to reverse his retirement<\/a> with a comeback fight eyed for this autumn (September, October, November).<\/p>\n

The same publication is now reporting that Lomachenko intends to return to an immediate world title shot against IBF and WBO super featherweight champion<\/a> Emanuel Navarrete.<\/p>\n

If the Ukrainian ends up beating Navarrete, then Lomachenko is eyeing a WBA lightweight champion in recess Gervonta Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lomachenko had been locked into negotiations with Davis for a lightweight unification bout in late 2024.<\/p>\n

Those talks subsequently collapsed when Loma stepped away from the sport.<\/p>\n

Lomachenko’s promoter at the time, Todd duBoef, of Top Rank, revealed how close the fight was to getting done during a sitdown interview with talkSPORT.com shortly after.<\/p>\n

Lomachenko and Davis had ‘framework’ for deal<\/p>\n

“We were all for it,” he said. “We had met with Tank Davis and multiple people from PBC.<\/p>\n

“Loma is at a place in his career where he is seasoned, he’s seen it all, he’s done it all.<\/p>\n

“But one thing he’s not done is unify all of the titles and go undisputed.<\/p>\n

“And I think he really wanted that, that is why his disappointment in the Haney fight was there.<\/p>\n

“But he wanted to take a pause, and we are all for it.<\/p>\n

“There was a framework that was relatively simple to put together and could be done.<\/p>\n

“But at the end of the day, it is down to the athletes.<\/p>\n

“There is no agreement in place. By framework, I mean similar to how we did Wilder and Fury, there was a framework to the dynamic of the two of us coming together and creating a massive event between PBC and Top Rank.<\/p>\n

“There is a framework to that, and that is how it looks as a sketch.<\/p>\n

“The details of it are different, but you have a framework of how you work, and that’s a nice place to start.”<\/p>\n

Lomachenko’s deal with Top Rank expired on May 12, making him a promotional free agent.<\/p>\n
