We don’t think it’s quite that cut-and-dry, but either way, the move will definitely affect Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox – if this reporting is accurate. Under Sony’s previous direction, its PS5 to PC ports would have been playable on Microsoft’s upcoming console\/PC hybrid, but now that won’t be the case – at least in terms of those big PlayStation games being created from this point forward. We don’t know if that eventuality has gone into Sony’s thinking here, but it’s certainly a curious time to stop making your biggest games available on PC.<\/p>\n

It also comes at time where, well, Microsoft is reconsidering its own approach to exclusive games moving forward<\/a>. Of course, the Windows owner is always likely to bring its games to PC these days, but their future strategy in regards to PlayStation and Nintendo is now up in the air – since Asha Sharma came in as Xbox boss anyway. We’ll have to see how that all shakes out, but we could be in for an unpredictable few years as next-gen rolls in. It seems a lot of Xbox fans want Microsoft to go back to making exclusives as well<\/a>!<\/p>\n
