Rangers are looking at initial architect plans as they mull over a blueprint to expand Ibrox<\/a>.<\/p>\n New chairman Andrew Cavenagh<\/a> and his partners at the San Francisco 49ers<\/a> announced after last year\u2019s takeover that they were considering increasing the stadium\u2019s current 51,500-seat capacity.<\/p>\n They are already working through a number of proposals to upgrade various areas around the ground – including the old megastore that has sat vacant since the club\u2019s retail shop was moved to the new Edmiston House project.<\/p>\n But fans are most eager to hear what the club\u2019s American owners plan to do about increasing capacity with thousands of supporters stuck on a waiting list for season tickets.<\/p>\n Cavenagh said: \u201cWe\u2019ve talked before about some of the ideas we\u2019ve had. We wrap all that together in Project Regen.<\/p>\n A general view of Ibrox Stadium<\/p>\n \u201cThere are different parts to it. Some of them are cosmetic, some of it is functional, some of it is how to increase revenue by changing general admission seats to hospitality.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s list of opportunities for that within the stadium. We\u2019re getting closer to having a priority list for that. There\u2019s stadium expansion which is the most talked about. We have the actual proposals from architects and engineers.”<\/p>\n New chief exec Jim Gillespie added: \u201cWe\u2019ve got initial proposals. We\u2019re working with architects, engineers, project managers and have done surveys.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re pulling these things together to see what is possible. Once we\u2019ve got more detail on it, we\u2019ll chat a bit more.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are progressing. We have to turn ambition into feasibility and then into reality.
