A gang of Edinburgh electric bike riders were spotted rampaging through The Meadows on Monday evening. The balaclava-clad youths were filmed riding on Middle Meadow Walk<\/a> around 7.30pm on May 18.<\/p>\n

Worried locals watched on and it’s understood police were made aware. The gang, with around six members, made their way from Argyle Place to Melville before riding head-on into traffic.<\/p>\n

A passing driver, who caught the moment on camera, claimed their vehicle was sprayed by dirt and rocks kicked up from the riders’ tyres.<\/p>\n

The group continued up to Sciennes Road where they allegedly dragged a rubbish bin around before dumping it on the street. The gang were later spotted at Cameron Toll.<\/p>\n

The driver, who wish to stay anonymous, said: “My wife and I were driving eastbound along Melville Drive around 7.30pm on Monday May 18 when we spotted half a dozen black-clad youths riding motorbikes south on Middle Meadows Walk.<\/p>\n

“They emerged at the bottom of Argyle Place and proceeded across Melville against the signal, right into traffic, just as we came to that intersection.<\/p>\n

“I honked at them repeatedly as I made my right turn onto Argyle, and my wife began taking photos and video. We were then heavily sprayed by dirt and rocks that two of them spun up under their rear tyres and projected onto the road.<\/p>\n

“We turned left onto Melville Terrace and drove slowly eastward. Most of the lads had gone ahead, but the same two as before remained behind, lined up under a tree immediately north of the pedestrian\/bike path and managed to spray us again as we drove past.<\/p>\n

“While my wife was on the phone to Police Scotland, we paralleled the gang as they proceeded up to Sciennes Road, where they dragged a rubbish bin around and dumped it in the street. They then headed up to St Catherine’s Place, went left on Grange Road and eventually right onto Minto Street. We last saw them far ahead, down near Cameron Toll.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, our car suffered a number of paint chips and scratches and a wee nick in the front passenger window. A kind fellow in the car behind us on Minto honked and told us he had video as well.<\/p>\n

“We pulled over and had a chat with him. We can’t let bullies and hooligans persist.”<\/p>\n
