Also making it into the semi-final of the FA Cup was a cherry on top too.

Considering the uncertainty around his position at multiple points during his tenure, Farke has more than earned the right to remind everyone about what he has achieved in West Yorkshire.

Peter Lowy makes major Daniel Farke claim

The German manager did this in his press conference before the Brighton game. His blockbuster comments shocked both reporters and supporters alike. But now, Leeds United director Peter Lowy has responded to the demands that Farke recently laid out publicly.

For those who may have forgotten, in his recent press conference, Farke claimed that when he joined the Whites back in 2023 on a four-year deal, the aim was to get Leeds promoted and help them avoid the drop in the Premier League.

This was achieved by year three. Farke claimed that he and the board now need to discuss new objectives. Meanwhile, he also stated that they need to back him in the transfer market to avoid making the same mistake that Leeds made when they didn’t back Marcelo Bielsa. He referenced the Argentine’s incredible first season in the Premier League and drop-off after.

Typically, managers going public with their demands doesn’t go well. But in a recent interview with The Athletic, Leeds director, Lowy, appeared to be on the same page as Farke.

“We had a four-year plan that we did in three,” Lowy said. “Now, we need another three-year plan. If you look at how I worked at Westfield and how the 49ers work, there are tactical issues and strategic issues.

“What Daniel was talking about was the strategic issue of the long-term plan, how we do it. We need to sit down and do it again because we got there a little early.”

To see our board and manager seemingly share the same ambition is very exciting heading into the summer transfer window for us Leeds fans. And hopefully, that means we can expect some big signings before next season.

Peter Lowy effectively confirmed Daniel Farke’s Leeds United contract extension

Farke’s current deal runs out in 2027, and Lowy confirms that Leeds intend to discuss a new three-year plan with the German. So, a contract extension for Farke seems imminent this summer.

Just seven months ago, it looked as though Farke would be kicked out of Elland Road. Now, he seems to be a pivotal part of the club’s long-term future.

Some fans may disagree with me and call me too conservative. However, I think Farke’s new three-year plan should look like this:

Next season, the sole focus would be on keeping us in the division once again. Because as a fanbase, we should know especially, just how hard the second season in the Premier League can be.

From there, given we continue to back Farke and invest in the transfer windows, a push for a top-half finish would seem realistic.

Even if we just miss out on a top-half finish, the main goal should be to be a lot closer to mid-table than the bottom three.

Then, after those three years are up, we should begin to look upwards in the table as opposed to over our shoulders.

            0%
Love

            0%
Funny

            100%
Wow

            0%
Sad

            0%
Angry

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has defied all expectations that were placed upon him last summer.
