And in celebration, the cast and creative team united on Tuesday evening to ride into the sunset together. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCreator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/eric-kripke\/\" id=\"auto-tag_eric-kripke_1\" data-tag=\"eric-kripke\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Kripke<\/a> was joined by series stars including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/chace-crawford\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chace-crawford_1\" data-tag=\"chace-crawford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chace Crawford<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/erin-moriarty\/\" id=\"auto-tag_erin-moriarty_1\" data-tag=\"erin-moriarty\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Erin Moriarty<\/a>, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Jensen Ackles and Daveed Diggs at the L.A. finale event, though leads Karl Urban, Jack Quaid and Antony Starr were not in attendance. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOn the red carpet, Kripke opened up about the end of The Boys era \u2014 which, spoiler, saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-boys-finale-homelander-eric-kripke-interview-1236601906\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">some major deaths<\/a> in Homelander, Billy Butcher and The Deep \u2014 as he explained that he had some of the main characters\u2019 journeys plotted as far back at the pilot episode. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI want everyone to love it, it\u2019s not fun to go online and have like a thousand comments in a row saying \u2018You suck, you suck, you suck, you suck,\u2019 but I\u2019ve sort of made peace with it\u2019s going to be polarized like everything else,\u201d the creator said of his anticipated fan reaction to the finale, after dealing with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/the-boys-season-5-prime-video-ratings-record-1236598788\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">online backlash <\/a>all season. \u201cA showrunner said to me a week or two ago, which I really liked, he said, \u2018Your job is to get an emotional reaction out of people, not exactly what that reaction is,\u2019 and I liked that a lot. So if people love it, if they hate it, as long as they\u2019re feeling emotion then I\u2019ve done my job.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCrawford, while still playing coy about The Deep\u2019s fate at the event, said he \u201cwas happy\u201d with his ending, as \u201cthere\u2019s no real way to get around it.\u201d While teasing there may be room for a Deep spinoff or prequel at some point, the star applauded \u201cthe way that Kripke did it with a five-act structure with the seasons and how it all went, somehow it kept miraculously dovetailing with what was happening culturally in the real world, which was genius. You can only hit so many home runs, you have to land the plane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMoriarty echoed that she is \u201cselfishly satisfied and globally satisfied\u201d with the final episode, emphasizing she hopes the fans \u201crespond well.\u201d She added, \u201cI feel like people are going to kind of anticipate certain moments of it and then certain moments are going to be a surprise.\u201d Ackles, however, is protesting the finale, declaring, \u201cI want season six and seven and eight \u2014 you\u2019re talking to a guy that did 15 seasons of a show [with Supernatural] so I\u2019m like really, five, that\u2019s it? That\u2019s all we\u2019re getting?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBut since this is indeed the end, he relented, \u201cThe way they wrap it up I think it\u2019s fantastic. I think Kripke had a really tall task to land this plane the way he did and as a fan of the show myself, I feel like it\u2019s satisfying. So I\u2019m happy for these guys, happy for all of us and I hope the fans are happy as well.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe larger Boys universe will carry on, though, including Ackles leading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/vought-rising-the-boys-spinoff-prequel-1236602390\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">prequel series Vought Rising<\/a> (out next year) and spinoff The Boys: Mexico also in the works.
