Birmingham Kansas, Birmingham Pennsylvania &#8211; done.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Birmingham Ohio &#8211; officially friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ken said: &#8220;You&#8217;ve certainly been getting around.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joe responds: &#8220;I have. I sort of can&#8217;t believe it, what a moment. We should celebrate!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A civic reception was organised along with a parade as part of the International Day of Birmingham on September 24, last year.<\/p>\n<p>Posting after the newly formed celebratory day, the Lord Mayor wrote on X: &#8220;The man. The icon. The Brummie!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you @joelycett for being the catalyst behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/InternationalDayOfBirmingham?src=hashtag_click\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:#InternationalDayOfBirmingham;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">#InternationalDayOfBirmingham<\/a> &amp; the celebrations of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I presented Joe with the Lord Mayor\u2019s Award, for his outstanding achievements, exceptional service &amp; charitable work in our city.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The final episode of Joe Lycett&#8217;s United States of Birmingham is Sky Max, from 9pm, tonight, Tuesday, May 13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This is the moment Birmingham becomes &#8216;official babs&#8217; with its American namesakes.
