{"id":977033,"date":"2026-05-22T04:41:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T04:41:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/977033\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T04:41:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T04:41:25","slug":"revealed-king-charles-iiis-hidden-motive-for-protecting-princesses-beatrice-and-eugenie-amid-york-family-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/977033\/","title":{"rendered":"Revealed: King Charles III&#8217;s &#8216;hidden motive&#8217; for protecting Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie amid York family scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Royal author Andrew Lownie has claimed King Charles III may have struck a behind-the-scenes deal with his disgraced younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, to ensure Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie remained protected within the royal fold.<\/p>\n<p>The claim comes as the York sisters continue to face scrutiny following renewed attention on the Epstein files and the fallout surrounding their parents.<\/p>\n<p>Lownie, who recently released an updated version of his 2025 biography &#8216;Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York&#8217;, suggested the King agreed to look after Andrew&#8217;s daughters in exchange for the former prince finally moving out of Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/25347030f9d18154e5fd0d16315c1d21.jpeg\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"Beatrice and Eugenie \u2018stood down\u2019 for Easter in \u2018cruel but predictable\u2019 royal snub\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He (Charles) might be under pressure from Andrew because I think a deal was done to get him out of Royal Lodge that said, &#8216;We&#8217;ll take care of your daughters&#8217;. So he would be kind of torn and can&#8217;t go back on that deal,&#8221; Lownie told The Mirror.<\/p>\n<p>The disgraced former prince, whose long-running ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein &#8211; as revealed in the Epstein files &#8211; saw him frozen out of public royal life, was arrested by local police in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n<p>He was later released under investigation and is now living in exile at Wood Farm on the King&#8217;s private Sandringham Estate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0ff2055846a9abbaca57bdd35dbf617e.jpeg\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"\u2018Not going to be welcomed\u2019: Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie \u2018bitterly disappointed\u2019 at royal ban\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While Andrew&#8217;s ex-wife, Sarah &#8216;Fergie&#8217; Ferguson, has also found herself sidelined in the wake of the Epstein scandal, Lownie claimed there remains deep division within palace circles over how to handle the couple&#8217;s daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36.<\/p>\n<p>The York sisters were also referenced throughout the Epstein files, including claims they travelled with their mother to visit the late financier in Miami following his release from prison.<\/p>\n<p>However, mention in the files does not imply wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s a very schizophrenic relationship at the moment with the royals and Beatrice and Eugenie,&#8221; Lownie said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/3968184b2addd8dffc5f75d2bac94a02.jpeg\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"\u2018She\u2019s having none of it\u2019: Princess Eugenie kept pregnancy news from Andrew\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One minute they&#8217;re very publicly being told they&#8217;re not going to be invited to Ascot, then they are going. You get the sense of distancing and I think there&#8217;s possibly two schools of thought here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lownie alleged Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Catherine are more cautious about the reputational impact of the York family, while the King feels a personal responsibility towards his nieces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s Camilla, William and Kate, who see the reputational damage and want to keep them at arm&#8217;s length, and then there&#8217;s Charles who is a bit sentimental and feels obligated to be protective,&#8221; he claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the controversy surrounding their parents, Beatrice and Eugenie have continued appearing at select royal events and reportedly secured invitations to Peter Phillips&#8217; upcoming wedding, even over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n<p>Eugenie, who is currently pregnant with her third child, and Beatrice have also both retained their HRH status; however, Lownie claimed William is taking a far tougher approach behind the scenes and will likely remove them once he is king.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the author alleged the<a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.skynews.com.au\/lifestyle\/celebrity-life\/dubious-characters-princesses-beatrice-and-eugenie-warned-their-royal-titles-could-be-at-risk-after-refusing-prince-williams-financial-audit\/news-story\/83500287e2c8f5f7c6222a8d4e9b19a4\" data-tgev=\"event119\" data-tgev-container=\"bodylink\" data-tgev-order=\"83500287e2c8f5f7c6222a8d4e9b19a4\" data-tgev-label=\"lifestyle\" data-tgev-metric=\"ev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> prince wanted the sisters to undergo a financial audit connected to their parents&#8217;
