With only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/helldivers_2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Helldivers 2<\/a> to consider a success from the initiative, it&#8217;s been nothing short of a disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Now, as Bungie tries to work out its own future, Sony has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2025\/08\/bungie-boss-pete-parsons-departs-as-sony-starts-to-take-control-of-flagging-dev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">taken more control of the team<\/a> in recent months. A third entry in the Destiny series was always seen as the project that could resurrect Bungie, but following today&#8217;s report, it sounds like that potential hasn&#8217;t even been greenlit yet \u2014 or won&#8217;t be at all.<\/p>\n<p>Marathon hasn&#8217;t set the world on fire either, so can Sony really wait another couple of years for the next Bungie product to make it to market?
