Marcin Przydacz, Nawrocki’s foreign policy adviser, said in a radio interview<\/a> that the policy reversal was the result of \u201cpresidential diplomacy\u201d rooted in the personal relationship between the two presidents; Trump endorsed Nawrocki in last year’s Polish election.<\/p>\n

Przydacz also put the decision in the context of the long-running political battle between Nawrocki and pro-EU Prime Minister Donald Tusk, condemning the government leader for not pressing for a redeployment of American troops from \u201chis beloved Germany.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a social media post<\/a>, Tusk thanked everyone involved in the policy change, including \u201cPresident Nawrocki, ministers, members of Congress, and friends of Poland in the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hegseth’s decision last week had come under fire from lawmakers from both parties in the U.S. Congress, worried about the signal it would send to one of America’s best friends in Europe.<\/p>\n

Defense Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz said Trump\u2019s move proved Polish-American ties remained \u201cvery strong\u201d and described Poland as an \u201cironclad ally\u201d of Washington. \u201cIt\u2019s good that we fight together for the fundamental issues of our homeland\u2019s security,\u201d he wrote<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll\u2019s well that ends well,” Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski said during a press briefing in Sweden.
