Firefighters are tackling an ongoing blaze at a bonfire site in east Belfast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Material at the site beside the Connswater Greenway<\/a>, and yards from homes in the Flora Street area, was on fire on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Four fire appliances from Knock, Whitla and Cadogan Fire Stations arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police also attended the scene, closing nearby Foxglove Street as firefighters accessed mains water to fight the blaze.<\/p>\n

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cThe incident is ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

A PSNI<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cOfficers attended in order to assist colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service with traffic management. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo reports have been received of damage to property or injury to persons.\u201d <\/p>\n

Bonfire material has been collected beside the Connswater Greenway site since February<\/a>, ahead of the Eleventh Night celebrations in July.<\/p>\n
