Martin Brundle has received his OBE from Prince William at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n
The Sky Sports F1 commentator received the honour of the OBE in the New Year’s Honours list for 2025, awarded in the name of King Charles III.<\/p>\n
The heir apparent, the Prince of Wales, handed Brundle his award during an investiture ceremony on Tuesday (13th May), at Windsor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An OBE is the second-highest rung of the British honours system, above MBE and below CBE.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In 2024, Red Bull boss Christian Horner was awarded a CBE for services to motorsport, with Brundle’s elevation to OBE coming for services to motorsport and sports broadcasting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Above a CBE is a knighthood, with seven F1 figures being knighted down the years.<\/p>\n
Drivers Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart, Stirling Moss, and Lewis Hamilton have all been made ‘Sir’, along with Frank Williams and his number two at Williams, Patrick Head.<\/p>\n
