Salt and Tar will once again transform into a vibrant stage for music, dance, and cultural exchange as the\u00a0Bootle International Festival\u00a0returns on\u00a0Monday 26th May 2025.<\/p>\n
Building on the success of last year\u2019s Eurovision-inspired event, the festival continues to grow in scale and ambition\u2014reflecting Bootle\u2019s rich diversity and Salt and Tar\u2019s emergence as a key cultural venue in Sefton.<\/p>\n
Organised through the\u00a0Sefton Performers Network, with lead partners\u00a0Sefton CVS\u00a0and\u00a0In Another Place, the festival will bring together communities from across the borough to share their heritage through live performances, food, and interactive workshops.<\/p>\n
The line-up includes performances from\u00a0Luma Creations,\u00a0The Ukrainian Choir,\u00a0Queen Lilas and the Congolese Association Band,\u00a0Waterloo Drummers,\u00a0Chinese Dragon Dancers, and the\u00a0In Another Place Choir, who will perform in collaboration with\u00a0People First\u00a0and\u00a0Mencap. Poetry, language showcases, and a community catwalk will further enrich the day\u2019s programme.<\/p>\n
Interactive activities will include Ukrainian crafts, Congolese arts, storytelling with Ykids, and a collaborative world map installation. Local groups such as\u00a0Living Well Sefton\u00a0and the\u00a0Kindfulness Coffee Club\u00a0will lead creative stations, while visitors can enjoy giant games and the musical \u201cbusker bus stop.\u201d A diverse selection of international street food will also be on offer.<\/p>\n
