And 21st seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is locked in an almighty five-set tussle, as is tradition. He\u2019s suffering physically, limping against Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but has just levelled things at 3-3 in the decider.<\/p>\n

A quick glance around the scoresheet so far: Swiss 11th seed Belinda Bencic has seen off Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus 6-2 6-3, while 13th seed Karen Khachanov has beaten French wildcard Arthur Gea.<\/p>\n

Second seed Alexander Zverev is 5-3 up on Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, and it\u2019s on serve at 3-4 in 26th seed Hailey Baptiste\u2019s tussle against former Roland-Garros and Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova – that should be a good one.<\/p>\n

Up next is 23rd seed and another Argentina, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, against Nuno Borges of Portugal. That one could also go on for a while…<\/p>\n

Raducanu takes on a third Argentine of the day, Solana Sierra, after the conclusion of that match.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk<\/a> won \u201cone of the most difficult matches\u201d in her career as she advanced at the French Open<\/a> hours after a missile strike narrowly missed her parents\u2019 home.<\/p>\n

Russia launched a wave of strikes overnight, killing four people in Kostyuk\u2019s native Kyiv and injuring at least 83 people across Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The 15th seed gave an emotional on-court interview after she won her opening-round match at Roland-Garros, beating Russian-born Oksana Selekhmeteva, who now represents Spain, 6-2 6-3.<\/p>\n

Kostyuk teared up and was warmly applauded by the crowd on Court Simonne-Mathieu as she said: \u201cThis morning, 100 metres away from my parent’s house, a missile destroyed the building.\u201d<\/p>\n

So Raducanu is going to have to wait a little longer, that\u2019s because Thiago Agustin Tirante dropped the third set to Pablo Llamas Ruiz.<\/p>\n

But the Argentine is up a break in the fourth, so that match should be done relatively soon, then it\u2019ll be a waiting game for Raducanu, with Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Nuno Borges the last match before her first round contest.<\/p>\n

The British number one takes on Argentina\u2019s Solana Sierra in the first round on Sunday in what will be just her second match since March following two-and-a-half months out with a post-viral illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel a lot better,\u201d she said. \u201cI thought I\u2019d completely flipped it. I think there\u2019s just been a little bit of a lingering cough recently. But I feel health-wise really good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played a really positive match last week in Strasbourg in the sense it was over two hours, and I think physically I pulled up really well from it. So I\u2019m happy to take that and build from it.\u201d<\/p>\n
