The publication reported that Europe currently has no\u00a0unified approach to\u00a0potential talks. Even so, expert and diplomatic circles are already discussing who could represent the EU\u00a0if\u00a0dialogue with Moscow begins.<\/p>\n
Helsingin Sanomat noted that Stubb\u2019s\u00a0name is\u00a0being actively mentioned in\u00a0connection with the search for a\u00a0representative for possible peace negotiations.<\/p>\n
At\u00a0the same time, the newspaper stressed that the discussions are still at\u00a0a\u00a0very early stage. No\u00a0final decisions have been made, including on\u00a0whether talks with Russia will take place at\u00a0all.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering a\u00a0question about a\u00a0possible dialogue partner from the EU, said that former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder would personally be\u00a0a\u00a0preferable interlocutor for him. At\u00a0the same time, Putin said the choice should remain with the European side. In\u00a0his view, it\u00a0should be\u00a0a\u00a0leader trusted by\u00a0Europeans and one who has not made harsh statements about Russia.<\/p>\n
