{"id":983856,"date":"2026-05-25T12:53:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T12:53:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/983856\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T12:53:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T12:53:23","slug":"have-your-say-on-regeneration-spending-in-holbeck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/983856\/","title":{"rendered":"Have your say on regeneration spending in Holbeck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"626\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Consultation.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, the Government has allocated \u00a315m for the Heart of Holbeck project which will see St Matthew\u2019s Community Centre refurbished and many houses improved amongst other projects.<\/p>\n<p>Plans include narrowing Domestic Street to make it more attractive to pedestrians accessing the shops and creating a one-way system to deter rat-running. Improvements to Holbeck Moor and St Matthew\u2019s churchyard are also proposed, as well as improvements to walking routes in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Following cthis consultation, final plans will be drawn up and the work is expected to start early next year.<\/p>\n<p>This week sees the start of a public consultation into how Holbeck\u2019s green spaces and streets can be improved. Three drop in events have been organised:<\/p>\n<p><strong>St Matthew\u2019s Community Centre<\/strong> \u2013 St Matthew\u2019s Street, Holbeck, Leeds, LS11 9NR<br \/>5:30\u20137:30pm, Thursday 28 May<\/p>\n<p><strong>Holbeck Moor Park<\/strong> \u2013 Gazebo near Skatepark (If the weather is poor, this session will move to St Matthew\u2019s Community Centre)<br \/>10:00am\u20132:00pm, Saturday 30 May<\/p>\n<p><strong>Slung Low<\/strong> \u2013 The Warehouse In Holbeck, Crosby St, Holbeck, Leeds LS11 9RQ<br \/>5:30\u20137:30pm, Wednesday 3 June<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s event on the Moor will include free tasters and activities taking place between 11am-1:pm from:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Yorkshire Cricket \u2013 Small Skills<br \/>Let\u2019s Do More Basketball<br \/>Hip Hop Phil \u2013 Breakdance and Graffiti Art<br \/>Kidz Klub \u2013 Play<br \/>Self Defence tasters with Savage Martial Arts<\/p>\n<p>Plus, you could walk away with a free 7 day gym pass for one of our Leeds City Council Leisure Centres!<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPop in for a chat and share your ideas on how we can improve Holbeck\u2019s green spaces and streets through UK Government Local Regeneration Funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCome and see the ideas, share your views, and tell us what matters most to you.
