And I don\u2019t think that he has the political space to allow it to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson \u2014 who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/send-for-agent-bojo-boris-johnson-dispatched-to-texas-to-boost-republican-support-for-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lobbied hard<\/a> for U.S. Republicans to stay the course in supporting Ukraine and insisted European fears about Donald Trump\u2019s Ukraine strategy are overblown \u2014 said: \u201cI have always thought that if we can get peace through strength in Ukraine, then Trump \u2014 for all the criticisms people make of him \u2014 Trump can actually deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018No real pressure\u2019 on Russia<\/p>\n<p>Johnson was in office in the U.K. during Vladimir Putin\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and has remained a staunch ally of Kyiv.
