\n\t\u201cScreaming and Conjuring<\/a>: The Resurrection and Unstoppable Rise of the Modern Horror Movie,\u201d the latest book from the Entertainment Weekly and Empire writer, has been announced for a Sept. 2 release from 1984 Publishing. The 504-page book will trace modern horror filmmaking, starting from \u201cScream\u201d and covering up until the present day. Collis is also the author of \u201cYou\u2019ve Got Red on You: How Shaun of the Dead Was Brought to Life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the press release, \u201cFrom \u2018Get Out\u2019 and \u2018M3GAN\u2019 to \u2018The Substance\u2019 and \u2018Sinners,\u2019 the horror genre is currently experiencing a thrilling resurgence. The modern era of horror has delivered a string of classic terror tales, including \u2018The Blair Witch Project, \u2018The Sixth Sense,\u2019 \u2018Final Destination,\u2019 \u2018The Others,\u2019 \u2018Pan\u2019s Labyrinth,\u2019 \u201928 Days Later,\u2019 \u2018Resident Evil,\u2019 \u2018Saw,\u2019 \u2018Hostel,\u2019 \u201dParanormal Activity,\u2019 \u2018Insidious\u2019 and \u2018The Conjuring,\u2019 which launched the horror genre\u2019s first multi-billion dollar franchise. \u2018Screaming and Conjuring\u2019 dives deep into the challenging and often chaotic production stories behind these films \u2014 and many more \u2014 offering readers an inside look at the creative turbulence and triumphs that brought these landmark movies to life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe book features exclusive interviews with horror luminaries like actors Jamie Lee Curtis (\u201cHalloween\u201d) and Neve Campbell (\u201cScream\u201d), directors Eli Roth (\u201cHostel\u201d) and Sam Raimi (\u201cEvil Dead\u201d) and special effects artist Greg Nicotero (\u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cScreaming and Conjuring\u201d arrives in a limited first-edition deluxe hardcover, featuring \u201cblack foil-gilded page edges, textured cover spot varnish and heavyweight paper stock.\u201d The cover illustration is by artist Gary Pullin, who has collaborated with Stephen King, Jack White and more artists.<\/p>\n
