Earlier today, the official Unreal Engine X account began posting about Epic Games and Porsche\u2019s Fortnite collaboration, following the Cayenne Turbo Electric being added to the game as a drivable vehicle on May 23. However, it later deleted one of the images featuring the vehicle following a wave of accusations that it looked suspiciously like AI-generated slop.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Users on ResetEra<\/a> managed to download it before the Unreal Engine account took it down. As other users on X pointed out in the quote-tweets, there are elements to the image that make it appear to be AI-generated,<\/a> not least of them the fact that the Porsche logo itself is, shall we say, jacked. In case you don\u2019t want to open an X link, the \u201cimage on the left\u201d referred to in the post is the same as the one that the Unreal Engine account previously deleted.<\/p>\n That still doesn\u2019t really explain how Riot Games\u2019 logo ended up in the image, or how it made it through whatever quality-control checks exist before it was published to the Unreal Engine social account. It sounds like someone at Porsche, or one of its brand design vendors, used AI to make a mock-up. <\/p>\n That mock-up proceeded to make its way through various internal B2B channels until it eventually arrived in front of the eyeballs of thousands.
