{"id":988141,"date":"2026-05-27T14:01:19","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T14:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/988141\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T14:01:19","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T14:01:19","slug":"dragon-quest-12-renamed-and-re-revealed-after-development-restart-first-gameplay-shown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/988141\/","title":{"rendered":"Dragon Quest 12 Renamed and Re-Revealed After Development Restart, First Gameplay Shown"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate no longer exists.<\/p>\n<p>The next mainline instalment in the decades-old franchise was announced years back, but executive producer Yosuke Saito has confirmed that the project ran into quite a lot of trouble.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, development was scrapped, and the whole thing was restarted.<\/p>\n<p>The game&#8217;s now called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/games\/ps5\/dragon_quest_xii_beyond_dreams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dragon Quest 12: Beyond Dreams<\/a>, and features a sleepy-eyed protagonist who suffers from strange visions.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Dragon Quest 12 Protagonist\" href=\"https:\/\/images.pushsquare.com\/aa8a68177386f\/dragon-quest-12-protagonist.large.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/dragon-quest-12-protagonist.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Dragon Quest 12 Protagonist\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The above trailer actually shows Dragon Quest 12 in action, but there&#8217;s not a whole lot that we can learn from what is a very brief glimpse at gameplay.<\/p>\n<p>And unfortunately, it does sound like this one&#8217;s still a long way off from release. Series creator Yuji Horii says that production is going well, but this new version of Dragon Quest 12 is clearly quite early in its development.<\/p>\n<p>The wait continues, then.
