Balmy highs of 35C are set to sweep across parts of Spain – just as British holidaymakers jet off abroad during May half term.<\/p>\n

Weather maps from WX Charts indicate conditions are going to heat up in southern Spain from Tuesday, May 27.<\/p>\n

According to the forecasts, scorching temperatures are expected on that day, with highs of 34C.<\/p>\n

The mercury will then rise over the next 24 hours, hitting 35C in some southern parts of the popular holiday destination.<\/p>\n

Almost half of the country could see highs of over 30C by the evening of Wednesday, May 28.<\/p>\n

The warmer weather will follow wet and stormy conditions predicted for the coming days in Spain.<\/p>\n

Spain’s national weather agency Agencia Estatal de Meteorologia (AE Met) has warned of unpredictable conditions for the Balearic Islands around May 15.<\/p>\n

It said: “Increased instability is expected across the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands due to the approach of a low-pressure system from the northwest.”<\/p>\n

Between May 13 and May 15, the country could be hit by ‘possible showers with strong thunderstorms and hail in large areas of the central and eastern peninsula and Majorca’.<\/p>\n

According to travel agency TUI, inconsistent weather patterns are not unusual for Spain for this time of the year,<\/p>\n

Spain saw a record-breaking 22 days of rainfall in March.<\/p>\n

Spring in the country usually involves ‘pleasant weather with mild temperatures, low rainfall, abundant sunshine and moderate humidity’.<\/p>\n
