{"id":989753,"date":"2026-05-28T07:53:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T07:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/989753\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T07:53:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T07:53:17","slug":"london-gallery-weekend-returns-with-120-galleries-curated-routes-and-more-than-80-free-events-across-the-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/989753\/","title":{"rendered":"London Gallery Weekend returns with 120+ galleries, curated routes and more than 80 free events across the city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"635\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Copperfield-open-10yr-anniversary-exhibition-during-London-Gallery-Weekend.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-310598\"  \/>Copperfield 10yr anniversary exhibition during London Gallery Weekend 2024<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/london-gallery-weekend\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">London Gallery Weekend<\/a> returns from 5th\u20137th June for its sixth edition, bringing together more than 120 galleries across the capital alongside a city-wide programme of exhibitions, performances, talks and public events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now firmly established as a key moment in the international arts calendar, this year\u2019s edition reflects London\u2019s continually evolving gallery landscape, with nine first-time participants joining the programme and several galleries opening new or expanded spaces across the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside major exhibitions opening throughout central, east and south London, this year\u2019s edition will include more than 80 free events ranging from artist talks and exhibition walkthroughs to performances, workshops, book signings and live music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeremy Epstein and Sarah Rustin, Co-Directors of London Gallery Weekend, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLondon Gallery Weekend\u2019s sixth edition is a convening moment that is both local and global in its scope and audience, reflecting the year-on-year revitalisation and evolution of the capital\u2019s contemporary art scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA principal goal for LGW is galvanising new audiences to explore the evolving spectrum of participating spaces that make London\u2019s gallery landscape singular \u2013 an array of gallery models, generations and approaches to supporting and showcasing artistic practice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the live events taking place across the weekend are performances by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/angelshampoo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Russell Perkins<\/a> at Public Gallery, <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/carolina-aguirre\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Caroline Aguirre<\/a> at Palmer Gallery and <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/yijia-wu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yijia Wu<\/a> at KRUPA, alongside artist-led exhibition tours with <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/dale-lewis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dale Lewis <\/a>at Edel Assanti, Patricia Piccinini at Ames Yavuz and John Riddy at Frith Street Gallery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elsewhere, talks and in-conversations include <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/lubaina-himid\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lubaina Himid<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/magda_stawarska\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Magda Stawarska<\/a> at Lisson Gallery, <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/oliver-beer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oliver Beer<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/rufus-wainwright\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rufus Wainwright<\/a> at Thaddaeus Ropac, and <a href=\"https:\/\/fadmagazine.com\/tag\/ravelle-pillay\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ravelle Pillay<\/a> in conversation with Dr Zo\u00e9 Whitley at Goodman Gallery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Returning for 2026 are LGW\u2019s <strong>Curated Routes<\/strong> \u2014 guided journeys through the city\u2019s galleries devised by prominent cultural figures including Lauren Cuthbertson, Sally Tallant, architect Sumayya Vally, designer Giles Deacon and musician Kelly Lee Owens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme also continues to introduce initiatives designed to strengthen the wider gallery ecosystem.
