Actress Helen Mirren was called an “evil Zionist b****” by a man in the street on Wednesday, while walking in the East London<\/a> neighborhood of Tower Hill.<\/p>\n

The 80-year-old Oscar-winning actress was walking at night with her husband, director Taylor Hackford, a video posted on X\/Twitter showed, when she was accosted by a man calling her “Helen Mirren, the avowed Zionist.”<\/p>\n

“You said Israel should last forever because of the Holocaust<\/a>,” he shouted at her. “She was very happy that Palestinians’ houses were gone,” he added. Hackford shouted back for him to leave them alone.<\/p>\n

Mirren, despite not being Jewish, has been outspoken in her support of Israel for years.<\/p>\n

In 2023, she portrayed the former Israeli prime minister Golda Meir<\/a> in the film Golda.\u00a0During this time, Mirren spoke to Israel’s Channel 12, where she stated, \u201cI believe in Israel, in the existence of Israel. I believe Israel has to go forward into the future, for all of eternity. I believe in Israel because of the Holocaust.”<\/p>\n
