Nobody\u2019s going to control it. The countries have maintained defence cooperation agreements for decades, which allow US forces access to Omani ports and air bases that are vital for operations in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Since long before the current war, Oman has served as a mediator for talks between the US and Iran.
