A source close to Prince Harry<\/a> believes there is a lack of trust between the Royal Family and the Duke of Sussex, following his interview with the BBC in America<\/a> earlier this month. The insider has explained how the Duke’s actions have “taken its toll” on the relationship.<\/p>\n

The source bluntly revealed to Hello! Magazine<\/a> “There is zero trust,” adding “The family feel that private conversations with Harry are not possible”. The Duke of Sussex has told the news outlet he “would love a reconciliation” with the Royal Family, in an emotional interview in which he said he said he was “devastated” at losing a legal challenge with the Home Office over the levels of security him and his family are entitled to when in the UK.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace released a rare statement<\/a> after the interview: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”<\/p>\n

The source also added: “It’s taken its toll. He sees things everywhere, he picks battles with everybody, and that’s tiring.<\/p>\n

“You can’t live in permanent battle mode. You’re a 40-year-old man. You’ve got to stop fighting the world.”<\/p>\n

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle<\/a> eventually settled in Montecito, California, after stepping down as working royals in 2020<\/a>. It’s where they moved with their son, Prince Archie, and welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The father-of-two, in the interview also spoke of his desire to reconcile with the family, saying: “I would love reconciliation with my family, there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious, I don’t know how much longer my father has, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”<\/p>\n

He conceded the interview, stating that any reconciliation would be in his family’s hands, adding: “If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”<\/p>\n

He described his court defeat as a “good old-fashioned establishment stitch up” and blamed the Royal Household for influencing the decision to reduce his security<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the approach Harry took in the interview has been criticised by experts. Royal author Robert Jobson, suggests a different approach was needed. As reported in Hello!
