The company running the East Midlands Designer Outlet has announced it is about to step away after nearly three decades.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Friday, May 29, McArthurGlen said its management of the centre, which is found near junction 28 of the M1, would end on Monday, June 1.<\/p>\n

“We’re proud to have managed East Midlands Designer Outlet for nearly three decades and would like to thank our guests, brand partners and local community for being part of the journey,” the firm said.<\/p>\n

“We hope to welcome you for a great day out at one of our other McArthurGlen Designer Outlets.”<\/p>\n

The company’s departure follows the sale of the centre to Mike Ashley’s Fraser Group, which was announced last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The group, which runs Sports Direct<\/a> from Shirebrook, confirmed it had acquired the East Midlands Designer Outlet, which houses a number of big brands including Nike, Adidas, Lacoste and M&S.<\/p>\n

US chains Slim Chickens, Five Guys, and Japanese-inspired pancake shop Fluffy Fluffy are among the restaurants at the designer outlet’s food court.<\/p>\n

Michael Murray, the chief executive of Frasers Group, said: “These strategic acquisitions reinforce our vision, leveraging strong partnerships with leading global brands to unlock mutual value – supporting their outlet strategies while driving growth.<\/p>\n
