Now that he\u2019s actually president and his economic polices are going into effect, the S&amp;P 500 is on pace to have its worst quarter <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/justinwolfers.bsky.social\/post\/3lk4xm6hmmr2f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:compared to the rest of the world;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">compared to the rest of the world<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nJ6xFJ6b8y\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:since the early 1980s;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">since the early 1980s<\/a> \u2015 and somehow <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/atrupar.com\/post\/3lkcaf5fngy2f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:it\u2019s all Joe Biden\u2019s fault;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">it\u2019s all Joe Biden\u2019s fault<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">For a more accurate historical analogue, however, Trump should probably be looking to Jimmy Carter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">So says CNBC host Jim Cramer, who used his show Monday to call out Trump for recreating the \u201cstagflation\u201d of the early 1980s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cI cannot think of another president in my lifetime who could knock down the stock market simply by opening his mouth than Jimmy Carter,\u201d said Cramer, who called it a \u201cbrutal\u201d comparison.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cEureka! I have found him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The financial analyst noted that Trump inherited declining inflation from Biden, yet decided to implement inflationary tariffs. Trump also inherited a strong job market from Biden, yet has gone about undoing that as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The market in general \u201cwas doing extremely well last year,\u201d said Cramer, until Trump showed up and sowed tremendous uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cSo let\u2019s look at it this way: Everything about this economy is good,\u201d he concluded. \u201cEverything, everything, except one thing. We have a president who\u2019s very angry at everyone, except Vladimir Putin. Oh, no, maybe even Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cAnd his wrath has made investors so downcast and so negative that people have just given up. They want nothing to do with stocks, nothing to with this world, because they\u2019re sure the White House will keep laying on the tariffs that seem to be wiping out your wealth and my wealth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">It wasn\u2019t all doom-and-gloom for the famously frazzled TV host.
