It’s widely reported that Greenwood is up for sale at Elland Road this summer following his loan spell with Preston in 2024/25 where he scored five and assisted three more in 38 Championship outings.

A no.10, the former Arsenal academy man is out of contract in 2026. He’s never really been in the mix for the first-team at Leeds United under Daniel Farke but he’s someone who boasts decent Championship experience having spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Middlesbrough.

There, he recorded almost exactly the same stats as he did at Preston scoring the same amount of goals and getting the same amount of assists but in 37 league games instead.

Stat (Champ.)

Sam Greenwood career so far

Games

76

Goals

10

Assists

6

Three reasons why Sam Greenwood would be a great signing for WrexhamSam Greenwood signing would be cheap and cheerful

Very much considered to be deadwood at Leeds, Greenwood wouldn’t break the bank. No price tag has been mentioned but it surely wouldn’t be much higher than the £1million mark given his experience, and as per Salary Sport he earns £9,000-a-week making him affordable in that sense too.

Sam Greenwood would add much-needed youth to the side

Greenwood has been around the block but he remains only 23 years old. He’d bring vital Championship experience to the Wrexham side but also some important youthfulness too. Parkinson’s squad is very ageing and it could soon catch up with them.

Jay Rodriguez has struggled in the no.10 spot for Wrexham

If Parkinson plays the same formation next season then he’ll need to maximise that all-important no.10 spot. Jay Rodriguez held that spot in the second half of the season but Wrexham fans were unimpressed with Rodriguez.

Greenwood arriving would give Parkinson some great depth and competition in that spot.

Wrexham could yet land a triple raid on newly-promoted Leeds United who look set for a bit of…

[8814
748,393,4884,1860,14148,16,15
0":"post-99884","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-leeds","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-england","10":"tag-great-britain","11":"tag-leeds","12":"tag-sam-greenwood","13":"tag-uk","14":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
