{"id":998924,"date":"2026-06-01T19:33:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T19:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/998924\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T19:33:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T19:33:24","slug":"british-campaign-targets-uk-israeli-idf-veterans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/998924\/","title":{"rendered":"British campaign targets UK-Israeli IDF veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>British <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/anti-israel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">anti-Israel<\/a> organizations launched a petition and campaign to investigate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-897793\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IDF veterans<\/a> with UK citizenship and screen them at the border, according to the Declassified UK website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">As of Monday evening, just over 13,000 people signed a petition by Declassified UK and the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) calling on Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood and Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to crack down on IDF veterans.<\/p>\n<p>The anti-Israel groups demanded that the UK implement a disclosure requirement for IDF service, that Israelis or those traveling from Israel be subject to screening for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-861739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">war crimes<\/a>, and to conduct investigations and prosecutions of veterans and service members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cNobody wants to live next to a potential war criminal \u2013 not least members of the Palestinian community in the UK who have family or friends who have been subjected to war crimes,\u201d read the petition.<\/p>\n<p>In Instagram advertisements for the campaign, a representative of the organization claimed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-849258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">dual-national<\/a> veterans may have been responsible for a supposed genocide that ostensibly saw bodies being \u201cliterally vaporized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Declassified UK claimed that 2,000 UK-Israeli nationals served in the IDF.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">On May 22, ICJP collaborated with the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, and Amnesty International Australia in a campaign calling for dual Australian national IDF veterans to be investigated for supposed war crimes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"British anti-Israel organizations launched a petition and campaign to investigate IDF veterans with UK citizenship and screen them&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":998925,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_share_on_mastodon":"0"},"categories":[3,4],"tags":[16190,748,393,4884,88931,267151,837,1144,712,16,15,1764],"class_list":["post-998924","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-uk","category-united-kingdom","tag-anti-israel","tag-britain","tag-england","tag-great-britain","tag-idf","tag-idf-veteran","tag-israel","tag-northern-ireland","tag-scotland","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-wales"],"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/116676526422881066","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/998924","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=998924"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/998924\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/998925"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=998924"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=998924"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=998924"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
