{"id":9993,"date":"2025-04-11T05:42:12","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T05:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/9993\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T05:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T05:42:12","slug":"ian-wright-shares-who-he-thinks-has-the-greater-premier-league-legacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/9993\/","title":{"rendered":"Ian Wright shares who he thinks has the greater Premier League legacy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester City fans will bid farewell to Kevin De Bruyne with heavy hearts this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestercity.news\/please-no-manchester-city-fans-devastated-after-seeing-news-coming-out-of-the-etihad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">De Bruyne announced last week he\u2019d be leaving City<\/a>, when his contract expires at the end of June.<\/p>\n<p>It is not yet clear where he will be playing his football next season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestercity.news\/the-four-clubs-currently-looking-to-sign-man-city-star-kevin-de-bruyne-ones-now-in-very-serious-discussions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Neom SC in Saudi Arabia have held talks with De Bruyne<\/a>, but there has also been interest from the MLS, with Inter Miami the latest club to enter the race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestercity.news\/tag\/kevin-de-bruyne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">De Bruyne\u2019s<\/a> exit will really sting City fans.<\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly, De Bruyne established himself as one of the all-time great players this competition has ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>He is perhaps rubbing shoulders with Thierry Henry, who many feel is the greatest Premier League player of all-time, and there\u2019s no doubting his status as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestercity.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester City<\/a> legend.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019ll certainly leave a huge legacy \u2013 and Ian Wright has now compared him to Mo Salah.<\/p>\n<p>Ian Wright shares who has the bigger Premier League legacy \u2013 Kevin De Bruyne or Mo Salah<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"697\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-1968510773-1024x697.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Copa\/Getty Images\" \/>Photo by Copa\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>De Bruyne has had a remarkable time at City since he signed from Wolfsburg back in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Some questioned the money City paid, with pundits Phil Thompson and Paul Merson famously perplexed by the transfer fee for the Belgian.<\/p>\n<p>But he quickly set about showing that the \u00a355 million paid was a total snip.<\/p>\n<p>A player De Bruyne sometimes gets compared to is Mo Salah.<\/p>\n<p>These two players have essentially been seen as the faces of the Premier League for years, and have arguably been the two best players.<\/p>\n<p>With De Bruyne leaving, and Salah seeming like he\u2019ll sign a new deal at Liverpool, there was a discussion about the pair on Stick to Football in a new video.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>For Ian Wright, De Bruyne has a bigger legacy than the Egyptian. He said: \u201cAt the moment you\u2019d have to go with Kevin De Bruyne simply because of the amount he has done, and he probably makes the all-time Premier League XI. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a fantastic player and an unbelievable professional. He\u2019s always asking for more from the players around him.
