(WKYT) &#8211; London City Attorney Larry Bryson is retiring after more than 40 years in the position.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Bryson made the announcement at the end of Monday\u2019s city council meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI\u2019ve been practicing the law since 1977 in Kentucky. It\u2019s now time for me to bring in my [shingle] and enjoy life away from the legal profession,\u201d Bryson said.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wkyt.com\/page\/wkyt-apps-for-ios-and-android-devices\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"WKYT Streaming Apps\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/MEPHTWNVMREWLEQQWWFJM27ZMA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Bryson said medical and health issues were also a factor in his decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Last year he was fired during the impeachment saga when Tracie Handley was the acting mayor. But Randall Weddle rehired Bryson after he was reinstated as the city\u2019s mayor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Weddle put out a statement Monday thanking Bryson for his years of work and wishing him the best in retirement.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WKYT.
