Two men have been charged after an armed police incident at an antiques event in Salford<\/a> last week. Officers were called to reports of an attempted robbery during the roadshow at the Swinton<\/a> Masonic Hall last Wednesday (May 27).<\/p>\n

Witnesses saw a large police presence in the car park outside the venue on Hospital Road at around 11.30am, which was temporarily locked down amid the response.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> launched an investigation into the incident and has since charged two suspects who have been bailed pending their next court appearance.<\/p>\n

Thomas King, 60, of Claremont Drive, Little Hulton and Keith Harrison, 52, of Buile Hill Avenue, Little Hulton, have both been charged with attempted robbery; possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit a robbery and possession of an offensive weapon (baseball bat).<\/p>\n

Harrison was also charged with taking without consent and possession of a class B drug, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
