Ukraine carried out one of its longest strikes of the war, sending FP-1 and/or FP-2 drones 2,500 km from Ukraine to Russia’s largest oil refinery in Omsk and setting it on fire. Omsk is in southern Siberia, about 800 km east of Yekaterinburg.

Russia deployed its latest fighter jet — the Su-57 — to intercept but it only managed to down one drone. Thirteen drones hit their targets.

The Omsk refinery in Russia has been hit at multiple points. At least two oil processing towers have been struck and are burning. This is Russia‘s largest and most modern refinery with an annual production capacity of 22 million tons.

Russian air defense fired hundreds of rounds at the drones attacking Omsk.

A Russian A-50 AWACS-type plane was deployed over Omsk but it wasn’t any more effective than the Su-57.

Ukraine also struck the Yaroslvl refinery again.

Fire Point’s CEO says that the company’s FP-1 drone can now fly even further than Omsk. If the 3,400 km prediction is correct, that would put Novosibirsk within range. Novosibirsk is Russia’s third largest city after Moscow and St. Petersburg and is heavily industrialized.

Speaking of Novosibirsk:

A Russian command post near St. Petersburg was also bavovna-ized.

Ukraine is also reported to have struck two ships in the Sea of Azov that were transporting 7,000 tons of fuel each.

Gasoline will not reach Crimea:

Russia launched another blistering missile/drone attack on the Kyiv area, killing at least 21 people. Ukraine was unable to shoot down ballistic missiles in the attack due to a severe shortage of Patriot missiles.

Part of the attack was directed at the town of Vyshneve, which is about 20 km outside Kyiv. Six of the victims were in Vyshneve.

Ukraine has been appealing for quite a while now for more air defense missiles from Europe and the United States, especially Patriots, which are capable of bringing down most Russian ballistic missiles.

The problem, of course, is that all that shit costs way too much to be produced in the quantities necessary to combat the mass drone attacks going on in Ukraine.

There is a photo being shared online that shows a family that was killed in a Russian strike on Kyiv. The photo is quite graphic in that it shows the family members bunched together and crushed under the debris of the building. So I won’t embed it, but you can see it at the link below.

There has long been a debate about such war photos and whether they need to be seen despite the graphic nature. It reminds me of the iconic photos from Vietnam of the naked girl running from an attack and the VietCong prisoner being executed point blank by a South Vietnamese official. The Russian airfield at Hvardiiske was also struck. Hvardiiske is in central Crimea north of Simferopol.

Ukraine is also reported to have struck air-defense systems and electrical substations in Crimea.

Another 1,480 Russians who are either already dead or will be soon when they are given crutches and told to get back out there. Plus 580 trucks/other vehicles and three air defense systems.

Turkey deported anti-war activist Ariadna Litvinova back to Russia, where she is wanted for “discrediting” the army. The Telegram channel Prison Lawyer says she was flown back July 4 with no contact since. She was reportedly deported, not extradited, but it’s unclear what Turkish law she broke.
