The overnight operation stretched from Russian military positions to the Black Sea, adding pressure on Moscow’s defenses and maritime network.
During the night of August 9, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck three surface-to-air missile systems and two radar stations on Russian territory, as well as three Russian “shadow fleet” vessels in the Black Sea.
The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, reported this.
According to him, during the night of August 8–9, Ukrainian forces struck an S-400 “Triumf” surface-to-air missile system in Gelendzhik, which had launched six missiles at Ukrainian territory between 9:25 a.m. and 12:51 p.m. on August 8.
The following were also identified:
“Tor” surface-to-air missile system, Pudovyi, Rostov Region (Russia);
“Pantsir-S1” surface-to-air gun-missile system, Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai (Russia);
“Podlet-K1” radar station, Holovatovka, Rostov Region (Russia);
“Kasta 2E2” radar station, Latonovo, Rostov Region (Russia);
one oil tanker in the Black Sea;
two bulk carriers in the Black Sea.
Earlier reports also indicate that between August 1 and 8, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck 12 more vessels belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet” in the Black and Azov Seas.
