The two young Ukrainians are moving into a stronger hockey environment, where an impressive season could bring them closer to senior competition.
Forward Danylo Skorokhod and defenseman Semen Stasiuk will play for Czech club Slavia Prague.
According to the press service of the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine, Skorokhod played for Sokol Kyiv in the 2025/2026 season, appearing in 19 games, scoring 4 goals and providing 14 assists. Along with the Kyiv team, he became Ukrainian champion.
Stasiuk has changed Czech clubs. Last season, he played for HC Poruba from the city of Ostrava. With Poruba U20, the hockey player scored 3 goals and recorded 14 assists in 43 games.
The Ukrainian national junior team players will represent Slavia U20, with the opportunity to play for the senior team during the season. The senior team competes in the Maxa Liga.
The Maxa Liga is the second-tier professional ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It features teams competing for promotion to the top division, the Extraliga. Moves like these allow Ukrainian talents to continue developing in a European hockey environment.
