The warning comes as occupation authorities prepare new procedures and thousands of residents are already being placed on Russia’s military register.
Men who remain in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories should leave before the so-called elections to the Russian State Duma are held. After that, the occupying authorities may intensify forced mobilization, warned Yuriy Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council.
He stressed that the Russian occupiers are already preparing mechanisms to conduct mobilization measures in the seized territories.
I want to remind men once again that the clock is ticking, and after the “elections,” the risks of large-scale Russian mobilization will be enormous – they will be trapped. We can see that the occupiers are genuinely preparing to carry out such mobilization.

Risk of Mobilization in Occupied Kherson Region
Russia plans to hold elections to the Russian State Duma in the occupied Ukrainian territories in September. In the temporarily seized part of the Kherson region, the occupiers have already registered 2,700 local residents for military service.
Yuriy Sobolevskyi also stated that the Security Service of Ukraine should investigate all Ukrainian citizens who help the occupation administration organize the so-called elections to the Russian State Duma in the temporarily occupied territories.
In his assessment, preparations for military registration and election procedures increase the threat that residents of occupied communities may be forcibly recruited into the Russian army.
