Suspilne has announced that the Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision 2026 has been delayed until September 26.
The Ukrainian public broadcaster has announced that its national final for the 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest has been delayed. The broadcaster is delaying the selection from September 13 to September 26 due to the worsening security situation.
The broadcaster explained in a statement that:
“The format of the National Selection final has been adapted to take into account enhanced security measures for the participants and the team producing it. At the same time, the voting rules remain unchanged: the winner will be determined and announced based on the results of the jury and audience voting.”
Six acts are competing to represent Ukraine in Malta this October they are:
Anastasiya Poshedina – “Krila” (Wings)
Roman Doroshenko – “Say Hello“
Erika Kolesnichenko – “NE kolyskova” (NOT a lullaby)
Dmytro Karabet – “Mamo” (Mother)
Marko Serdynskyi – “Goris” (Mountains)
Zlata Solonenko – “Who am I”
As in previous years, the winner of the selection will be determined by the votes of the jury (50%) and the audience (50%).
Sofia Neresesian represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with “Motanka”. She won the public vote and finished second overall with 177 points. This was Ukraine’s best result at Junior Eurovision since 2013.

Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest+
Ukraine debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and has competed in the contest ever since. To date, Ukraine has only won the competition once. In 2012, Anastasiya Petryk won in Amsterdam with the song “Nebo”. She scored 138 points, including eight sets of 12 points. Ukraine has hosted the contest twice, the first time in 2009 and the second in 2013 following their victory in Amsterdam.
