In the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine in Jordan, on June 10, a meeting took place between representatives of the local Ukrainian diaspora and Oleh Hrubyi, a veteran of the Russia-Ukraine war and defender of Luhansk Airport.

Oleh began his combat path in 2014 from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as part of the reconnaissance airborne company of the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade (OPDBr).
Subsequently, he directly participated in the defense of Donbas and sustained a severe injury during the fierce battles for Luhansk Airport.

During a lively exchange with Ukrainians abroad, the veteran shared memories of the start of the first stage of the war and candidly answered the audience’s questions, emphasizing the need for ongoing financial, informational, and moral support for Ukraine’s defenders who continue to protect their homeland from Russian occupiers.
The diplomatic mission expressed heartfelt gratitude to the veteran for his courage, selfless defense of the Ukrainian people, and inspiring stories.
The organizers separately thanked the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Combatants, Service Members and War Veterans for its systematic and important work in providing aid, rehabilitation, and support to Ukraine’s defenders.
As a reminder, in the Jordanian capital there was a ceremonial event for World Embroidery Day, which united the Ukrainian diaspora, diplomats, and Jordanian friends to demonstrate Ukraine’s cultural resilience and indomitable spirit.
