A German defence executive warns Europe is missing crucial lessons from Ukraine’s combat-tested air-defence systems. He plans joint drone interceptor projects with Ukrainian partners.
Today Ukraine is establishing itself as a leading force in an integrated air defense system, and Europe can leverage its experience to strengthen its own security. This view was expressed during an interview with Matthias Lena, the vice president of the German company Quantum Systems.

Lena noted the intention to expand cooperation with Ukrainian partners in the interceptor-drone sector and to create joint ventures that will develop various drone solutions on land, in the air, and in the interceptor segment.

According to him, Ukrainian technologies should become an integral part of Europe’s future security system, and the integration of Ukraine’s defense and technology sectors is a key condition for implementing joint initiatives.

It is also noted that Germany and Ukraine have signed an agreement for the joint development of a new air defense system to intercept ballistic missiles, underscoring the partnership in defense technology.
