In a surprising cross-attack between what most people consider two different wars, Iran is accusing Ukraine of attacking one of its ships.<\/p>\n
Officials in Tehran on Saturday summoned a Ukrainian representative, demanding an explanation for Ukraine’s bombing of an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea north of Iran’s borders.<\/p>\n
The Caspian Sea is between 750-1,000 miles from Ukraine, depending on the area of that large body of water is being considered, and is considered the world’s largest inland body of water, stretching from Tehran, the capital of Iran, north to Russia. <\/p>\n
Iran claims one sailor was killed in the Ukraine attack and subsequent explosion, while another sailor was injured.<\/p>\n
And Iran told Ukraine it considers this an act of aggression and an attempt to widen the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n
The accusations came just as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalenskyy publicly noted that he is seeing evidence that Russian satellite photos and information are being fed to Iranian leaders in their attacks on United States positions.<\/p>\n
In a post on X, Zalenskyy said the Kyiv government has recorded just in the past three weeks “active Russian satellite surveillance of the Gulf states and U.S. military facilities located there.
