{"id":25210,"date":"2026-08-06T20:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T20:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/25210\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T20:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T20:38:08","slug":"zelenskiy-says-ukraine-to-help-farmers-hit-by-russian-attacks-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/25210\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelenskiy says Ukraine to help farmers hit by Russian attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Aug 6 (Reuters) &#8211; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that his government would provide assistance to farmers hit by Russian \u200cattacks on shipping and port facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Zelenskiy, speaking in his nightly \u200cvideo address, said the measures had been elaborated at a government meeting and would focus \u200bon farmers &#8220;who are now in a difficult situation because of Russian strikes on our ports and the maritime corridor&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He said the measures, including subsidised credits and other assistance with financing, would &#8220;begin to be implemented in the coming \u200cdays&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Russia, the world&#8217;s largest wheat \u2060exporter, and Ukraine, also a major agricultural exporter, have struck each other&#8217;s agricultural export facilities and commercial vessels in \u2060the Black Sea area in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The governor of Ukraine&#8217;s Odesa Region, Oleh Kiper, said on Thursday that a Russian attack had damaged a foreign-flagged \u200bship loaded \u200bwith wheat in Ukraine&#8217;s Black Sea \u200barea, killing one crew member \u200cand causing a fire. Ukraine&#8217;s seaports authority identified the ship as sailing under the flag of Guinea-Bissau.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ukraine had established a Black Sea corridor for safe passage of shipping that moves along the coast towards Romania, but ships have recently come under attack in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Taras \u200cVysotskyi told Reuters this week that alternative \u200bgrain export routes would reach required capacity \u200bat the end of August \u200bat the earliest.
