We\u2019re separated by an ocean,\u201d Trump told reporters at the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, however, said he was troubled by the mounting death toll from the war, claiming that Russia and Ukraine were losing an average of 25,000 people a month, \u201cmostly soldiers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate to see 25,000 young people a month get killed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump blames Biden-era aid for US weapons shortages<\/p>\n<p>Trump also criticised former President Joe Biden\u2019s military support for Ukraine, claiming that his administration had provided Kyiv with \u201c$300 billion worth of ammunition\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want missiles too,\u201d Trump said, arguing that the extensive military assistance to Ukraine had depleted US weapons stockpiles.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said the US was now rebuilding its arsenal and using up munitions that Washington otherwise may not have needed to deploy.<\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s latest strikes kill at least 21<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s remarks came as Russia launched another wave of ballistic missile and drone attacks across Ukraine on Thursday, killing at least 21 people.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said additional air-defence interceptors \u201ccould have saved lives\u201d as Kyiv seeks to strengthen its defences against Russia\u2019s increasingly intense missile attacks.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/images.firstpost.com\/dlxczavtqcctuei\/news18\/static\/images\/fp\/revamp_v1\/earth.svg\" alt=\"world\" width=\"32\" height=\"32\" class=\"nvicsvg\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/>More from World<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky has also appealed to Trump for permission to produce Patriot air-defence missiles domestically to bolster Ukraine\u2019s ability to counter Russian ballistic missiles.
