Russian attacks killed at least nine people and injured 89 others across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, while Dnipropetrovsk Oblast came under nearly 80 separate strikes, Ukrainian regional authorities said on Aug. 7. <\/p>\n
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, five people were killed and 16 others injured during Russian attacks over the past day. The southeastern region, which had remained far from the front lines until July last year, was repeatedly targeted, the Kyiv Independent<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said in updates issued on Aug. 6 and Aug. 7 that Russian forces launched about 80 attacks using drones, artillery, guided aerial bombs and missiles.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s Air Force also reported that Russia launched 147 Shahed-type drones<\/a> overnight on Aug. 7. Air defense units shot down 114 of the drones, while 29 struck 15 locations. Debris from intercepted drones fell at four additional sites.<\/p>\n In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces attacked 39 settlements, including the regional capital of Kherson, killing one person and injuring 32 others, among them a child, according to the regional military administration.<\/p>\n In Kharkiv Oblast, two men were killed and 11 people were injured in the city of Lozova, while seven more people were wounded in other parts of the region, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said.<\/p>\n In Donetsk Oblast, one person was killed in Bilenke and five others were injured elsewhere in the region, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.<\/p>\n Russian attacks also injured 10 people in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the regional military administration said.<\/p>\n In Sumy Oblast, eight people were reported injured in Russian strikes over the past day, according to local authorities.<\/p>\n
