To explain why only the integrated use of different types of drones against different kinds of targets makes it possible to fight Russian forces effectively, Magyar has coined the term \u201cborscht recipe.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis \u2018borscht recipe\u2019 is a list of different types of crews operating at different depths, using different systems, and positioned at different distances from one another,\u201d Magyar said.<\/p>\n
Ukraine\u2019s most famous dish, borscht, is not complete if any essential ingredient is missing. According to Magyar, the same is true of drone forces: the system does not work if even one component is missing.<\/p>\n
In wartime, Magyar says, a brigade built according to the \u201cborscht recipe\u201d model, with 300 crews, can cover a 100-kilometer stretch of front. In peacetime, when its main task is surveillance and maintaining readiness, the same brigade could cover 500 to 600 kilometers, he said.<\/p>\n
The best option, however, would be for the armed forces of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to establish separate drone forces, as Ukraine has already done and Russia has now done as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Proposal No. 4 \u2014 each Baltic state should establish at least one specialized drone brigade.
