{"id":27952,"date":"2026-08-13T13:57:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T13:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/27952\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T13:57:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T13:57:11","slug":"ukraine-returns-261-bodies-of-supposedly-ukrainian-soldiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/27952\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine returns 261 bodies of supposedly Ukrainian soldiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UKRAINE, Aug. 13 \u2014 Ukraine returned 261 bodies, which, according to the Russian officials, belong to Ukrainian military personnel, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/Koord_shtab\/22452\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The previous repatriation <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/Koord_shtab\/21772\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">took place<\/a> on Jul. 16, when Ukraine received 501 bodies that Russia also claimed belonged to Ukrainian troops.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement investigators, together with representatives of expert agencies, will conduct examinations to identify the deceased. After identification, the bodies will be returned to their families for burial.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian ombudsman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/DGN0nOMt9bk?si=BjifaS8G5lxYUTiV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">said<\/a> that as of Aug. 12, the list of dead in Russian captivity already includes 375 confirmed names.
