The Ukrainian military has announced it conducted strikes on a rocket manufacturing center in Russia and other facilities used by Moscow’s forces.<\/p>\n
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said one of the key locations of Russia’s rocket and space industry was attacked on Friday through Saturday. It added that Russia produces rockets for launching communication satellite systems at the facility.<\/p>\n
Kyiv also said it hit a Russian airfield used by MiG-31 fighter jets that are capable of carrying hypersonic missiles.<\/p>\n
In addition, the military reported it had struck a depot of Russian drones and command posts in Ukrainian regions controlled by Moscow.<\/p>\n
The moves are seen as Ukraine’s efforts to decrease Russia’s combat capability.<\/p>\n
Continuing attacks by Russian ballistic missiles have caused Ukraine to face a lack of interceptors.<\/p>\n
In a video address on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his desire to start licensed production of interceptor missiles for the US-made Patriot defense system.<\/p>\n
US President Donald Trump told Zelenskyy in July that the US would give Ukraine the license, but later expressed hesitation.<\/p>\n
