{"id":29168,"date":"2026-08-16T19:39:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-16T19:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/29168\/"},"modified":"2026-08-16T19:39:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T19:39:11","slug":"russia-ukraine-exchange-attacks-on-capitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ukraine\/29168\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia, Ukraine exchange attacks on capitals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ukraine has attacked warehouses and other facilities outside Moscow while Russia continued missile and drone strikes in Kyiv and other Ukrainian sites.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian military says it struck more than 800 Ukrainian drones from Saturday night to Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor of Moscow said in a social media post that 201 drones were destroyed in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The governor of the Moscow region said drone attacks triggered a fire at warehouses of the largest Russian e-commerce operator, Wildberries.<\/p>\n<p>Drone attacks also caused damage to houses and other structures in the Moscow region and the southern region of Rostov, killing six people.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine saw Russian attacks with ballistic missiles, drones and other weapons in multiple places through Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Two people were killed and another was wounded in the southern region of Zaporizhzhia. In the capital, Kyiv, Russian strikes triggered fires, injuring at least three people.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine has a severe shortage of interceptor missiles.
