The date of the meeting was announced by the Security Council Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion was initiated by five European members of the UN Security Council: Denmark, France, Greece, Latvia, and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Who Will Chair the UN Security Council Meeting<\/p>\n<p>The meeting is expected to be chaired by Danish Foreign Minister Lars L\u00f8kke Rasmussen. In August, Denmark holds the presidency of the UN Security Council.<\/p>\n<p>UN Deputy Secretaries-General Rosemary DiCarlo and Tom Fletcher, responsible for political and humanitarian affairs respectively, are expected to speak at the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, which corresponds to 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Discussions of Russian Aggression<\/p>\n<p>The previous emergency meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to Ukraine and Russian aggression took place on July 27.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, on August 10, Security Council members held an informal Arria-formula meeting.
