The main reason behind the price increase is a reduction in berry supply amid strong demand. The decline in supply is linked to the fact that most local growers have already completed sales of this crop for the current season.

At the same time, producers who are currently marketing late-season blueberry varieties have gained an opportunity to increase their selling prices. As a result of these price adjustments, blueberries are now being offered on the Ukrainian market at UAH 140-240/kg ($3.13-5.37/kg), which is on average 24% higher than a week earlier.

Read also: Tomato prices in Ukraine resume downward trend

Despite the price increase, blueberries currently remain on average 18% cheaper for Ukrainian consumers than during the same period last year. At the same time, market participants are confident that blueberry prices will continue to rise.

More detailed information about developments in the blueberry market and other fruit and vegetable sectors in Ukraine is available on the EastFruit website.

     EastFruit

The use of the site materials is free if there is a direct and open for search engines hyperlink to a specific publication of the East-Fruit.com website.

blueberrypricesUkraine

This week, for the first time since the beginning of summer, a…

[3
6579,922,26
post-31839","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","tag-blueberry","tag-prices","tag-ukraine
["GET
