This week, for the first time since the beginning of summer, a trend toward higher blueberry prices has emerged in Ukraine, according to analysts at EastFruit<\/a>. The main reason behind the price increase is a reduction in berry supply amid strong demand. The decline in supply is linked to the fact that most local growers have already completed sales of this crop for the current season.<\/p>\n

At the same time, producers who are currently marketing late-season blueberry varieties have gained an opportunity to increase their selling prices. As a result of these price adjustments, blueberries are now being offered on the Ukrainian market at UAH 140-240\/kg ($3.13-5.37\/kg), which is on average 24% higher than a week earlier.<\/p>\n

Despite the price increase, blueberries currently remain on average 18% cheaper for Ukrainian consumers than during the same period last year. At the same time, market participants are confident that blueberry prices will continue to rise.<\/p>\n
