The UN Security Council will meet on August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, to discuss the consequences of Russia’s full-scale war, focusing specifically on the escalation of missile and drone attacks against civilians and critical infrastructure, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sybiha specifically mentioned Russia\u2019s \u201cdouble tap\u201d strike on a shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih, which killed 16 people and injured 130, including more than 20 children.<\/p>\n The minister noted that the attack has become a horrific reminder of Russia\u2019s deliberate targeting of families, rescue workers, and critical civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n The Security Council will also address Russia\u2019s continued attacks against Ukrainian ports and obstruction of grain exports. Sybiha emphasized that such actions deepen the global food crisis and endanger millions far beyond Ukraine\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n Ukraine expects a strong, results oriented discussion that reflects the gravity of Russia\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n Kyiv will call for decisive steps to stop Russian attacks, protect civilians, and uphold international peace and security.<\/p>\n On August 21 at about 4:30 p.m., Russian forces struck Kryvyi Rih\u2019s largest shopping mall, Sunny Gallery, with two drones.
